SIZING
Ben wears a size L and his measurements are height 179cm / 5'11", chest 109cm / 43in.
The best way to find out your size, is to measure a jacket you already own and that fits you well:
1. Lay your jacket flat on a table. 2. Measure across the chest making sure to measure from armpit to armpit. 3. Compare your measurements to the table below.
Our measurements are the size of the jacket, therefore if your jacket measurement is between two of our sizes, choose the larger size. If your measurement is the same as one of our sizes our jacket will be the same fit. Our jackets fit true to size, so we would normally advise purchasing your usual size. However, if you prefer to layer your motorcycle clothing, choose the size up as motorcycle jackets are thicker than lifestyle jackets.
What a great jacket! This is now my go-to jacket for on and off the bike. I consistently get compliments on how sleek the jacket is. I was also caught in the rain, and the jacket held up wonderfully.
Before I took the jacket out for its first ride, I was concerned about how the collar would flow in the wind with it being so tall. It scooped around my helmet and was perfectly fine. Even at 100+ mph, there was no issue.
The jacket is a little longer than I expected, and worried it might be too tight when I was riding, but there are zippers on the side to allow for the bottom to expand and make for a comfortable ride.
All in all, the jacket exceeded my expectations for a riding jacket.

Great all around Australia Jacket- But still a bit heavy for Sydney traffic in summer
Let me start out by saying that the Merla Moto Team is absolutely amazing and just jumped into helping me make a decision based on what my stated needs were for this jacket…which I wasnt too sure at that point beyond wanting a “do-everything jacket”, which is a tall order admittedly. But let me tell you, the Merla Team knocked it out of the park with the Carrera Men’s Waxed Cotton Motorcycle Jacket.
It is defo waterproofed which I put to the test on my 2300km ride over Christmas, I got dumped on a few times and while it did hold up very well in keeping me dry…It did get soaked through 1 out of 5 times i got dumped on, but that wasn’t until I was in 25mins+ of downpour. Should I have stopped? Probably, but I wanted to just get through it. That is no fault of the jacket though! I opted to add the back armour as I was going on a long distance trip but the fact that it comes with the elbow armour by default is amazing and it is super comfortable and easy to remove as needed. I went one more size up than normal so that I would have some room to layer in the colder months and it still looks trim and fit on me…but I am a bigger guy so YMMV, but just stop by the store if you are in Sydney and give it try on yourself if you are unsure. 10/10 love the team, they are very knowledgeable and just good people.
The zippered vents work very well when at highway speeds and OK when around the city. I usually leave the zippers open all the time and when around the city I keep the cuffs unbuttoned to help with airflow. I think for around town I plan to stop in and grab the Riding shirt they have released as I think the combination of that and this Carrera jacket will be a perfect combo for riding year round in Syd.

Exceeded my expectations
Absolutely love this jacket! I've been looking for something that I can wear on and off the bike without lugging around a big heavy piece of gear. I feel just as protected in this Carrera jacket as I do my old jacket. Love that I can easily remove the armour, but barely need to since it's so light. Already gotten a lot of compliments - highly recommend!
